It's 19 degrees outside, 6:15pm, and you just got home from a long day. And by long day I mean you got up, actually attempted to do your hair or look nice, and left the house to spend your day with a bunch of people you don't really know (this is also known as school).
The first thing you do is, of course, greet your loving family. We all go through the "how was your day", "what did you do", and "what are your plans for tonight" questions. First of all, my day was never exciting unless the Avengers made an appearance. Second, I went to Jupiter, tanned with JLo, and shopped in Paris. Lastly, I don't have plans...like always.
One of the most important questions, if not THE most important question is "what's for dinner". If you've never heard this before, you're doing something wrong.
"Comfy? Cozy? Crusty? I still don't get it!"
Let's start with comfy. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE needs comfort food! What would life be without some of the greatest like chips, ice cream, and best of all, grilled cheese!? Grilled cheese is now what is for dinner!
Next up is cozy! To really enjoy that comfort food, you have to be comfy. It's science. In fact, pretty sure Albert Einstein said something along those lines. Here comes the best part! Go jump into that pool of cotton candy-like pants and that form-fitting, garbage bag-sized XXL shirt you know you love. Don't worry, you'll rock that outfit!
"The crusty?? I'm so lost!"
Time to start dinner! That fabulous pool of cheese on bread. To start the grilled cheese, spread butter on one side of the slice of bread and sprinkle some garlic salt all over it.
Next, you have to find that nice, creamy, American cheese slice and lay in strategically on the bread. Now, take some bacon bits and just pour them on (the more bacon, the better)! Add some fresh parsley flakes so you can no longer see the cheese through the bacon and parsley combined. By fresh parsley, I mean parsley freshly shaken out of the container you bought from the store. Who do you think I am!? Like I would seriously grow my parsley in a garden! I'm looking for instant results! Of course, I look for instant results when I do crunches...but for some reason it doesn't work.
Now, you add that second piece of cheese! You know you want it! At this point, you really need to stop counting the calories and look forward to shamelessly eating this little piece of Heaven.
This is the time you add that second piece of bread with the butter and garlic on the outside.
Here is where the magic truly happens! You cook that masterpiece of a grilled cheese. Make sure you don't burn it! The pressure is on! Just let it get a little past the golden brown, to where the cheese is melted and there is a big pile of gooeyness (is that even a word? It is now.)!
Finally, the very last step. Stop reading this! What are you still doing here!? Go eat the cheese that has been "grilled"!
This is the end result. An empty plate because you ate that sandwich like there was no tomorrow! Try not to go make another one. It will take a lot of self control, but even if you do make another, do it shamelessly. One of God's best gifts to us was food!
