As people, we are enticed by beauty. It could be the beauty of a person, nature or in most cases, food! In the long run though, we all have different outlooks on what we find beautiful.
Let's start easy! The first step of photography is actually taking the picture. As we take the picture, we look through the little peephole and find something we want to capture. Click! Now we have it.
Next, is taking the picture(s) off of the camera and let's be honest, nobody likes that because it takes forever! This is where I strongly advise in investing in a little wi-fi plug in for your camera. Personally, it has saved a lot of time and frustration.
Third, we finally see the picture up close and personal. If you're anything like me, you're petrified. Almost always my first thought is "Why, why does it look like a load of crap that is unfixable, stupid, and ugly!?" Here is exhibit one: Beast. The picture itself doesn't look that great. It's just, blah. Now is the time that we go to the kitchen, get a straw, and suck it up!
Lastly, the beauty unveils itself. Editing has become one of my best friends. Well, I guess Instagram could be too! (Where was I going?) Oh, right! There are all of these fancy filters these days, but they just add color. Here's a suggestion, invest in a good, quality editing program. Each year, I pay around $30-35 for a membership on picmonkey.com and I absolutely love it! (It's extremely user-friendly!) We get to add our own personal touches and create our own beauty out of something plain.
So here's the challenge! Next time you take a photo, take a little time to play around with it in an editing program and test your skills! You never know what might happen! :)
Until the next time,
Megan
